Following feedback from residents and local stakeholders, we are looking again at our proposals.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent survey, and for continuing to engage with us on the Lisson Grove proposals. We are listening to your views and concerns, and we’re working with our design team to respond to the feedback. We are committed to working with all key stakeholders and residents to identify areas of compromise to enable us to collectively bring forward a scheme that can deliver the new homes the area needs, but also has broad support from the community.
The Lisson Grove Project will, of course, be the sum of its component parts, but we need to remain steadfast in our determination to tackle the housing crisis within the Church Street ward and across the Borough. The latest figure of 172,000 children living in temporary accommodation in the UK is a stark reminder of the challenge we face. This figure will not be reduced without significant intervention, and projects such as Lisson Grove are part of the strategy to tackle this. The new homes proposed at Lisson Grove will benefit Church Street residents first, through a dedicated Local Lettings Plan.
We’ll be inviting those who took part in our recent survey, who have sent in feedback, the Church Street Regeneration Group, and other local stakeholders to a workshop focused on the residential aspects of the scheme. In this workshop, we will explore and expand on the thinking that led us to the current proposals, as well as other options that will deliver similar amounts of housing but with different approaches to handling height. Please also note that the current proposals are just that. They are proposals. We want to work with you to develop something that meets local needs and concerns.
