Site B & C Co-Design - What's Next

We are inviting those who live and work in Church Street to get involved in our next stage of co-design for Sites B and C. In our first stage of co-design, we worked with over 200 people from the Church Street community to make changes and improvements to important parts of the previous Outline Planning Permission.

Between November and January, we asked people how they think we are getting on and what they think. With 86% positive feedback, people said the co-design process is moving the proposals in the right direction. We now move from Stage 1 into Stage 2 co design.

GET INVOLVED IN THE NEXT STAGE OF CO-DESIGN!

This is your opportunity to help shape real decisions about housing, green space, building design, and community facilities.

Introducing Detoun

Hello, my name is Detoun and I’m a professional chef. For more than 22 years, my son Dami and I have proudly called Church Street home. What has always meant the most to me is being part of the Church Street community. It’s a close-knit, family-centred place where the market traders and local residents bring together such a wonderful mix of cultures, cuisines and faiths.

My journey as a chef began when I arrived in the United Kingdom from Lagos, Nigeria, in the late 1980s. Over the following 20 years I developed my skills working in some of London’s most well-known venues, including Wembley Stadium, the Hilton Metropole Hotel, and with the London Borough of Hackney. During that time I had the privilege of supervising and leading kitchens that prepared high quality meals for a wide range of guests.

My son and I are proud to be bringing something special to the neighbourhood with the Church Street Triangle Café, right in the heart of the community. Our hope is that it will be a warm, welcoming space where people can stop by for a hearty breakfast, a much-needed coffee, or simply a friendly chat.

For us, this café is about more than food, it’s about community, connection, and giving something back to the place that has been home to our family for so many years and be a part of Church Street Regeneration which will bring new homes, new businesses, public spaces. You can follow Detoun on Instagram @herbsxspicescatering.

Family Spear: Pyramus & Thisbe at The Cockpit

Join us for magical interactive theatre experience every Saturday afternoon in 2026 at The Cockpit Theatre. The Rude Mechanicals have been asked to perform at the Duke’s wedding—but in true Rude Mechanicals fashion, they’ve forgotten to write the play! That’s where you come in. Drawing inspiration from the classic tale of Pyramus & Thisbe, made famous in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the audience works together to help complete the story.

This lively, hands on show blends Shakespeare’s original text with inventive ideas from the audience, brought to life with music, props, puppetry, rhymes, sound effects and high energy dance routines. Children play a key role in shaping the story—creating characters, crafting plot twists, writingmsongs and more—developing storytelling confidence and imagination along the way.

Because the audience leads so much of the action, every performance is completely different. Expect creativity, chaos, laughs, and a one of a kind show that you’ll never see twice!. Tickets are just £10 for Westminster residents, with special offers available for families. Please bring proof of address when collecting your tickets.
