Geo Technical Surveys starting 12 October

Ground surveys for the Lisson Grove Programme will take place across Lisson Green from 12 October to December 2026. The surveys will help us understand the ground and what is below the surface, which will support the development of our plans.

The map below shows where we plan to carry out the surveys, please note that some locations may change if we find underground services or other obstructions.

What to expect

Specialist contractors will drill a small number of holes to check the ground. They will put temporary barriers around each work area. After the work, they will make the area safe and repair the surface.

There may be short-term restrictions near work areas. These may affect small sections of pavement and some parking bays. The contractor will keep safe access to homes, entrances, bin stores and paths wherever possible. They will provide another safe route when needed.

Access routes

Small sections of pavement may close for a short time during the surveys. The contractor will provide a safe alternative route. Where possible, one side of the pavement will stay open. This will help residents and visitors move around safely, including wheelchair users who need dropped kerbs.

The contractor will keep housing entrances and bin stores clear. Some parking bays may close for up to five days during the survey work.

Safety and Equipment

Some surveys will take a short time. Others may take longer because of the depth of the hole or the ground conditions. At a small number of locations, monitoring equipment may stay in place for several weeks. This will help the contractor continue to check the ground. Any equipment left on site will be safe and clearly marked.

Noise

There will be some noise while drilling equipment is in use, but Lucion Group will keep noise and disruption as low as possible. After the work, the contractor will make each area safe and repair the surface.

Temporary welfare unit at Greenside Green

From 12 October, Lucion Group will use a small part of Greenside Green for around seven weeks. The team will have a temporary welfare unit with an office and toilet. Fencing will surround the unit, and the area will remain locked and only open to the contractor’s team.
The contractor will keep the area as small as possible. They will protect the grass while they work and repair any damage afterwards.
