Site B & C Co-Design - What's Next

We are inviting those who live and work in Church Street to get involved in our next stage of co-design for Sites B and C. In our first stage of co-design, we worked with over 200 people from the Church Street community to make changes and improvements to important parts of the previous Outline Planning Permission.

Between November and January, we asked people how they think we are getting on and what they think. With 86% positive feedback, people said the co-design process is moving the proposals in the right direction. We now move from Stage 1 into Stage 2 co design.

GET INVOLVED IN THE NEXT STAGE OF CO-DESIGN!

This is your opportunity to help shape real decisions about housing, green space, building design, and community facilities.

Ground Breaking Ceremony marks major Milestone for Church Street Regeneration

A significant milestone for Site A was reached following a ground-breaking ceremony held on site, attended by the Lord Mayor, councillors, Church Street Partner Mount Anvil project leaders, and local stakeholders on Friday 13 February.

The Lord Mayor and Councillor Ormsby marked the moment by symbolically breaking ground with a silver shovel along with Mount Anvil signalling the beginning of the project.

Cllr Ellie Ormsby, Cabinet Member for Regenerations and Renters said

'A good home is the foundation of a good life. It provides stability, dignity and the security people need to thrive. We are building 430 new homes, 50% of them will be affordable, and 70% of those will be for social rent for people on the waiting lists. We’re providing the spacious, energy-efficient homes they so badly need.'

The ground-breaking event marks the first visible step in transforming the site and delivering new much-needed homes.

You can find out more about Site A at:

Site B & C Newsletter - February 2026

Thank you for having your say on the co-design process for Church Street Sites B and C

In November 2025, we shared an update on the co-design process for sites B and C, showing how the Church Street community have worked together to strengthen the plans for the new homes, community spaces and market facilities as part of the regeneration scheme.

We wanted to know if you thought the co-design process is moving us in the right direction.

The co-design work aims to make changes and improvements to important parts of the previous Outline Planning Permission plans. Better daylight and sunlight, more space between buildings, and new community spaces are just a few of the improvements the co-design work is bringing about.
