What's in a name - Site A Block Naming

We have been consulting on naming the six buildings we are building as part of Site A - see below:

Simplified diagram of the six buildings

We have now selected the top three themes and want you to choose which of them you like most. The winning theme would be used to name all of the buildings, and the top three themes are listed below, along with illustrative examples of what the names could be:

Local Characters:

  • Joe Hegarty – former Church Street Councillor who also chaired the Church Street Futures Group
  • Henry Sylvester Williams – former Church Street Councillor who was also the first elected Global Majority Councillor to serve in Westminster

Local area and the market:

  • Merchants
  • Barrow

Nature linked to heritage of the local community:

  • Cedar
  • Jasmine

You can vote online using the form below or come as see us at the Regeneration Space or come and see us at our community events:

  • Monthly Community market stall, Thursday 12 June, 11am to 1pm.
  • Antique’s Fair, Sunday 29 June, 11am to 5pm.

We are taking feedback until 18 July. After that, we will submit the final names from the theme that has the most resident support for approval to the Royal Mail, the emergency services and others. We will let residents know when they have signed off the final names for the buildings.
