Artistic Impression – Hoarding Artwork Unveiling

Wherever building work takes place, the safety of our communities is our top priority. You will have seen the large wooden hoarding that surround sites that are put in place to keep pedestrians safe from the work taking place within. While predominantly for safety, they also provide a blank canvas for local people to display their artistic creations.

So when local schools and community groups were asked to contribute their art to the Church Street Site A hoarding, they jumped at the chance. The theme of the artwork was ‘what does Church Street mean to you?’ We put out an open call to schools and the local community to submit.

Children from the Gateway Academy and St Edwards Primary School alongside MBS Youth, Daniel Leon, Anjalee Salter and the Dende Collective all contributed to the project.

On Thursday 26 June, the schools and artists along with Church Street Regeneration project team, Cllrs Ormsby and Mount Anvil CEO Darrah Hurley attend an unveiling of community artwork on Broadley Street as part of Site A hoarding.

Thank you to all the of the community artwork project and a special thank you  to one of our traders Anwar Tailors who helped with the big reveal.

Pop along and have a look at this fabulous communality art installation.

Church Street Antiques Fair

Now in its sixth year, the Church Street Antiques Fair was back! Antique and vintage enthusiasts from all over London were out in full looking for a bargain or two at the famous Antiques Fair. The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Paul Dimoldenberg and the Constituency MP, Georgia Gould, gave the honour of opening and touring the Fair.

Bennie Gray, owner of Alfie's Antiques said

'We’ve worked hard to promote Church Street as a leading and distinctive enclave for art and antiques. The success of the sixth annual Church Street Antiques Fair is a milestone in that process.’

Leon Young, Co- organiser and Church Street Antique business owner said

‘What a day! Baking hot, but still they came to Church Street Antiques Fair 2025. Several thousand visitors hunting, browsing and buying something special amongst the vintage, antiques, art and design on offer from the forty professional traders from around the UK, and the 100 resident dealerships open on the Sunday. The event broadcasts Church Street as a destination.’

Let's Design A Better Church Street, Together

Westminster City Council is launching the codesign phase for Sites B and C. We want the regeneration plans for Church Street to deliver the new homes and community facilities the neighbourhood needs. At the same time, we want to review the existing designs and work with the community to make sure they meet the expectations of residents.

Working alongside our newly appointed design team we’re inviting you to shape how these sites evolve. This includes revisiting aspects of the current designs and, where needed, exploring revised options that reflect shared ambitions.

You can get involved in several ways, including attending workshops that will look in detail at different parts of the design for Sites B and C. We are putting together a programme of these workshops, with the initial set running from September to December.

People who participate in these workshops will be remunerated for their time. Along with these workshops, there will be many different ways for you to have your say.

How can I find out more and apply?

If you would like to register your interest in participating in these initial workshops, please scan the QR code or visit churchstreet.org/together and submit your details by Friday 29 August.

If you don’t have access to a computer or a smartphone, please visit the Regeneration Space (56 Church Street, NW8 8ET) so we can sign you up at 56 Church Street, NW8 8ET
